I’m getting ready
To go to the Fiber Festival this weekend.
I plied the Suffolk and Romney,
thereby freeing up two bobbins.
Since I’m taking three spinning classes this weekend, I thought it would be prudent to have some free bobbins to use.
Shelda asked what classes I’m taking. Here’s the lineup:
Friday afternoon:Â Lumpy Bumpy Designer yarn with Saundra Lungsford
Saturday morning:Â Spin a Bunny with Nancy Barnett
Saturday afternoon:Â Spinning Mohair with Chris Hunsburger
Sunday morning:Â Fully Fashioned and Fabulous with Melissa Leapman
I have some homework to do for the Melissa Leapman class–five little swatches. Have I started on these yet? Nope.Â
I’m trying to get mentally organized for the trip. I’ll have to leave between 8:00 and 8:30 a.m. on Friday morning in order to get to Jefferson City in time for my 1:00 p.m. class. I’ll need my wheel, bobbins, combs, carders, angora fiber, knitting project(s), lazy kate, niddy noddy….
Wish me luck.

I haven’t started my swatches either. I’m telling myself they won’t take long, but we’ll see! I’m looking forward to seeing you this weekend. I don’t think I’m coming until sometime Saturday. I guess I need to figure that out, eh?

Let’s see, 4 hours to Jeff City means you must be in southern Missouri; my old stomping grounds. I grew up in Pulaski County (near Fort Leonard Wood) and then lived in Springfield from ’91 to ’00. I don’t know if they were doing the Fiber Festival then; if I’d known, I’d have been there! Hope you have good weather for the trip! Tho’ I’m secretly jealous anytime anyone gets to attend a fiber/yarn event of any kind!

Actually, I live in the northwest corner of Missouri–still about 4 hours away from Jeff City! A bit of a drive…
Shelda, I’ll see you on Saturday! Can’t wait!
